NaBloPoMo

I’m participating in NaBloPoMo (I had to tab back to the NaBloPoMo page 5 times to make sure I was typing that out correctly, and not inadvertently typing the acronym of some kind of swingers’ sex ring), which is a challenge to post daily to my blog for the month of November.  It stands for National Blog Posting Month, which I actually had to look up because I suck at acronyms, even when they give me additional letters.

I didn’t discover the challenge until roughly 10:30 on November 1st when I sat down to do my Halloween wrap-up, so rather than publish it in the middle of the night I scheduled it for yesterday morning, and then I did the same with yesterday’s post.  So I have written every day, but just not posted.  You know for someone who is greatly concerned about other people following rules, I sure am not so great at it myself.  Hopefully I don’t wind up in blogging jail or something.  Actually that may be what the acronym actually stands for – it sounds vaguely like prison lingo does it not?  Or is it because I am typing this at 5 in the morning, which is either really 4, 5, or 6 – because I don’t know if my clock changed automatically, and because math is hard.  I just know it’s dark and cold.  And that I will be officially caught up by writing early today.

So as you have likely gathered from the above paragraph, my writing is going to be non-sensical (I thought that was a word but spell-check says no – maybe I’m thinking of Seussical) for the next month, but the good news is that it will be every day.  It should be an interesting experiment.  I already tend to write daily, but for other sites, or I might spend a couple of days finishing a post if I want more time to mull it over.  I work better with deadlines, so it will be fun to see what happens here with my writing.  Plus it’s an excuse to avoid housework – sorry honey, you’ll have to go ahead and scrub that toilet.  Got a deadline – hands are tied!
