Hey guys!! I’m taking a break from cleaning blue jell-o off my carpet (the glamour never stops around here), to pop in and say hi!! So how are you? I hope you are well. Has the back-to-school crud caught up with you yet? We are right in the thick of it at the Nerd House. Molly and Grace have had the stomach flu / west nile / hysterical monkey disease since Saturday night, and they have been tag-teaming me on the “let’s be fine all day but vomit all night” routine. I haven’t slept properly since Friday night. My natural bitchiness and forgetfulness (would you believe I sat here for a full minute trying to remember that word) cannot accommodate sleep deprivation. I lived that when the twins were full of the devil colic. I can’t go back to those dark days. Mama needs her sleep.
Exciting News!!
To add to the fun, because we wouldn’t want things to be normal boring around here, Maggie’s dental surgery was scheduled for today. We’ve been holding our breath (well not really because we lack abdominal strength in a major way), hoping that she wouldn’t catch the bug and have to miss her appointment. The good news is that it appears that biting one’s toenails gives one a stronger immune system than one’s sisters (and possibly creates additional dental work and a reduction of dinner party invites), and she managed to stay well for her appointment. I’ll have more on that later this week, but I am sure glad that is over with.
It’s been a bit of a rough week. So I was thrilled to come home and find out I can finally share some exciting news with you!
Have you all stopped by the new parenting site from AOL Canada called parentdish.ca? It’s full of a bunch of super-awesome Canadian writers and creators, and I am very excited to be a part of it! The site just launched a couple of weeks ago, and it’s already packed with great information, and a sweet-looking layout (do people still say sweet? I don’t know…I’m still saying awesome, and about one step away from reverting back to rad).
Please go check out my contributor profile and like it, tweet it, dance on the roof top, etc. Please don’t let me be the only one sharing it…that’s kind of sad isn’t it…like sending myself secret-admirer valentines. Which I only did once. This year.
Thanks guys! Back to the Bissell! Which by the way is my favourite appliance this week. Well I suppose it’s a tie between it and the Keurig. I just hope I don’t confuse the two…
