I hope this is a pajama party, because I am super cozy in my flannels while I write this. Nerdguy calls them my twitter pants because they have birds all over them that look like the twitter bird. So maybe we’ll just say that I am dressed for social media, shall we?
For those of you new to my site, welcome! Please make yourself comfortable. And don’t be offended if I count the silverware when you leave. I’m not a trusting person.
So a bit about me, eh? I am an accountant turned stay at home mom. My husband and I have 3 daughters – a 9 year old and 7 year old twins. One of the twins has autism and the oldest is a complex kiddo, so I talk about how we manage navigating life with special needs and maintain a sense of humour. Or I just make jokes as a defense mechanism. A good therapist would vote with the second one.

Awe, I have 2 girls – so much fun!
I’m glad you are part of the party, you should stop by my party for some cake too (Cake & Pj’s go well together LOL)

P.S. I’m impressed you were/are an accountant….I hate taxes.
Tara (Nerdgirlmom) says
Thank you for stopping by!! Girls are a lot of fun aren’t they? And I totally hate taxes too…Nerdguy does ours..and he’s an engineer! lol And yes, cake and PJs go tremendously well together!

Hi 🙂 I followed you from the UBP and I’m glad I did. I have four kids—three with autism and the youngest now showing signs of SPD. It’s nice to know I’m not alone on the journey.
Tara (Nerdgirlmom) says
Hi Elizabeth…I’m so glad to meet you! And yes, it always helps to be able to talk to others going through the same stuff! I will hop over to your blog and check it out! Thanks for commenting!
Elizabeth says
Thanks for coming to visit 🙂
Jessica Bialowas says
I found you from the UBP 2013. I also have twins and we are going through the process of figuring out what one of them has (or if we want to know). Right now it’s just a jumble of unrelated things – SPD, weak core, social difficulty, etc. I feel like I know where the road is heading, but have no clue how to get there if that makes any sense.
Tara (Nerdgirlmom) says
Maggie was diagnosed, without question at age 2, whereas Molly’s diagnoses took 2 years, and the doctors still don’t agree. Molly’s is the most frustrating, because you’re left not even knowing what book to look in for help, so I get your frustration. Let me know if I can help at all! Thank you for visiting!
Kirsty says
The title of your blog made me laugh out loud! You don’t have to count the silverware because I tend to eat with my hands…really looking forward to following you! Hope we can get to know each other better.
Tara (Nerdgirlmom) says
OMG I laughed out loud at your eating with your hands comment!! Thank you for commenting, and I look forward to getting to know you too!

That’s awesome to hear! So funny that the day after I was contemplating changing my blog name, people are commenting that it is what drew them here! I think the Universe is speaking. That or it’s one of those Melissa & Doug puzzles going off again. Glad to meet you!!
Trish Forant says
Thought I’d stop in and show a little love by dropping a comment. I’m surfing on over from the UBP! Party on! ::: Tossing Confetti :::

Hello, again. You know you have the best blog title ever, right?
As you witnessed on my facebook page, licking is a big theme in our lives.
Anyway, trying to follow instructions (for once) and submit my official “I was here” comment.
I’ll definitely be back too. Cheers!

Thank you…I wasn’t sure about the title lately, so I appreciate the positive feedback! Someone at a conference told me it was creepy. Even AFTER I explained it!
So did you find out if shoes were actually worn?
