Another twin down with the cold today, and I’m well on my way myself. Maggie went to speech, but other than that we had a relaxing day of hanging out. Look at the picture of Maggie beside the Christmas tree – her favourite spot (other than under the tree and looking up at the lights that is). She’s got her popcorn and Netflix on the iPad; she’s in her happy place. Just don’t dare turn on any other lights or she will shout at the lamps.
We also got started on our ornament painting. The girls paint them for their teachers each year – we get the ones from Costco. In September. It’s Costco. Maggie got much more into the painting this year, which was awesome to see!
Grace also painted her American Girl doll box to be a wardrobe for Saige’s clothes. I think this is because she is planning to expand her doll’s wardrobe judging by the letter to Santa that she wrote today. Santa heard his wallet crying.
Have your kids written their letters to Santa yet? Was it a shock? How do you prepare them for the idea that they aren’t going to get what they ask for?

You guys are really getting into the season. I applaud your early organizational skillz!
Here, up until this year, gift requests have been such small items. But, after going through this 8th birthday season, I think Santa is in for a big difference in what they want this year. So far, I know Gretchen wants the 2013 Holiday Barbie and she told Carl’s bff’s mom that she is going to ask Santa for “a desk kit so she can make a desk to do her homework.” Yikes! I’ll keep you posted as to how Santa does with that.
